The stranger laughed in reply. “You cannot be both. You must choose.”

Eve lifted her head. “No, I don’t have to. I’ve already made my choice. I accept both light and darkness. They are a part of me. And I won’t reject either one.”

The stranger froze, his smile vanished. “You think you can be both? That’s impossible. It will destroy you.”

Eve took a step forward. “Maybe. But I’m willing to take that risk. Because only then can I be whole.”

And in that moment, something changed. The darkness surrounding her began to fade, and the light within her grew brighter. She felt her soul filling with strength, as if she had finally found what she had been searching for.
