The Reformation Jubilee in the Texts of Abraham Scultetus (1617)

Abstract. The Reformation Jubilee of 1617 gave rise to numerous publicistic works, both Lutheran and Calvinist. The leader of German Calvinists in the second half of the 16th and early 17th centuries was the Electorate of the Palatinate. Abraham Scultetus is considered to have been the most influential of the court preachers at the court of Frederick V in Heidelberg, he accompanied the «Winter King» to Prague in 1619. The article examines two sermons by Scultetus dedicated to the Reformation Jubilee. An analysis of these sermons allows us to find out how the theologian saw the past, present, and future of the Christian church, and to understand what factors, in addition to confessional ones, influenced the image of the Reformation and the century that it followed.

Аннотация. Большинство французских эрудитов XVII в. стремилось в своих сочинениях превозносить и поддерживать французскую монархию,
